The Journey Back

The journey back from the skywalk was a little faster, mainly because we were trying to get the heck outta there before the rain “washed” us away! That same unpaved 14 miles that we drove slowly on the way up became something of a motor-cross adventure on the way back. I had just had surgery the Friday before, so my guts were hurting a bit, but we figured “let’s get it over as soon as possible!” When rain falls on ground that is dry and hard as concrete, it doesn’t take long to pool and cause a miniature flash flood. The clouds were beautiful and dark in the distance, but we were glad to be out on the highway.
