Carson City - Day One

The bad weather turned out to be not too bad. We left at 5:30 on Friday morning, and about an hour into the trip Rick ran into some snowy weather. The kids and I were already asleep, but he woke us up to see it, and we promptly went back to sleep! The only other snowy weather we saw was always in the distance, but it sure made some pretty shadows on the mountains!

There is an army depot in the town of Hawthorne, Nevada, and while Rick was inside the store we got to see it practicing picking up a hummer (and later a cargo box). It was fun to watch! I love the first picture with the two dogs waiting patiently in the back of the pickup for their owner!

Once we got to Carson City, we ate at Applebee’s and just hung out in the hotel room for the rest of the evening.
