I took radioactive iodine therapy for my thyroid yesterday so I have to stay 5 feet away from everyone for a few days. I set up camp in Bradley's room so I could watch tv. I'm already bored. I have resorted to watching "Denise Richards" on E! tv. I can't believe I have sunk so low!

Anyways, it has given me plenty of time to update my blog, so that part is good. I have updated all the way through the Angie and family visit. The only things I have left to blog are the before and after pics of the house. Of course, that would require getting it cleaned up again so I could take pictures! Oh yeah, I didn't mention below during the Dick story that I was truly on vacation. Angie kept the house spotless while she was here - I barely lifted a finger. Thanks, Ang! I love ya!

My thyroid regimen: Iodine goes straight to your thyroid, so the radioacitivy is designed to kill the hyperactive tissue. In most cases, it will kill the normal tissue, too. If (when) that happens, I will be on lifelong thyroid replacement. That is supposedly easier to manage than a hyperactive thyroid. After 3 days I will be able to be around people again, but it will take 4 - 6 weeks for the therapy to work. There is a very small chance that it won't totally work and I would have to do it again. I go back to the doctor in 4 weeks so I'll keep you posted.
