Intellectual Courage - Part 2

Randy Pausch is a 46 year old professor at Carnegie Mellon who recently discovered he has terminal pancreatic cancer. He is in good health now, but the doctors say that will only last about 3-6 months. He delivered his farewell lecture at Carnegie Mellon on September 18th, complete with cat scans and all. If you have time to watch the entire lecture (a little over an hour and a half) I suggest you do. He talks about his childhood dreams, how he accomplished them, and how he has helped others accomplish their dreams as a professor/mentor. The lecture was so moving - I laughed out loud a lot, and also cried out loud a lot. He has three small children - something like 5, 4, and 1, and he is leaving behind an incredible legacy. You can watch the full lecture at the link below, or you can catch snippets if you search Google videos for Randy Pausch. Another true hero. Most of my heroes are erudite.
