Day 4 – Very Merry Christmas

On Tuesday we just hung out and washed clothes and waited until time to head to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas. VMC is really spectacular – if you are ever in Disney in December I highly recommend you attend. They have fake snow falling on Main Street, a fabulous special Christmas parade, and even more fabulous special fireworks.

Here we are watching the snow fall and waiting on the parade.

Some pre-parade entertainment – Southern Belles, and Funny Fireman,
and Pops’ electric wheelchair (which would turn out to be
THE most requested ride of the trip!).

The pictures of the actual parade didn’t turn out so great because it was dark, but the looks on the kids’ faces were priceless! Laney and Maddy knew every character, and Ella would say “Hi” and wave to every float!

Waiting and watching the fireworks. Right before the fireworks started, Tinkerbell “flew” down from the Castle to the ground (although Delaney kept saying – “Mom, I see the wire…”) and Maddy spent pretty much the rest of the show asking where Tinkerbell was and covering her ears! I was standing next to Delaney and she was singing all the songs with joy and I would turn around and see Ella just staring in amazement. It was such an awesome experience!

I took several videos of the fireworks, and while none of them do it justice, here are a couple. The first one shows the fireworks forming a Christmas tree around the Castle, and then a final firework shoots up in the shape of a star – but it is kind of at the top and out of the range of the camera.

The second one has more fireworks but it’s still kinda dark.

After the fireworks we got to take a special Jackson family boat ride on It’s a Small World. I don’t know who’s having more fun – the kids, or me and Chad?!?
