Blue Christmas, or White Christmas?

I spent the first few days home from Disney in a funk. It just didn't seem like Christmas at all here - no decorations up and harldy any presents bought for the kids. We had such an awesome time at Disney (I'm still weeding through the 457 pics I took, so some of them will be up by this weekend) and it was really hard to come back to Las Vegas (I still can't call it home yet). All my nieces and nephews are growing up so fast. The first night I got to see them all, Maddy kept running "fast" (unbelievably fast, I would tell her) up and down the hall and into my arms. That feeling of unconditional love is so awesome, and it breaks my heart that I don't get to experience it more often.

On Sunday, Ella was spiking fever again and I almost took her to the urgent care, but I took off work on Monday (yeah, another day of leave without pay!) and took her to her regular doctor. She has "raging" ear infections in both ears. Dr. Glasser couldn't believe that she wasn't screaming hysterically - another thing Ella gets from her Aunt Keri - a high tolerance for pain! A few rounds of antibotics later and Ella is feeling a lot better.

Yesterday morning we woke up to snow. The picture below was taken by Rick's friend Brad - I took several pictures with the disposable camera, took it to Walgreens and found out I had to get a set of prints along with the cd, agreed, then only half the pictures were loaded to the cd. Guess I'll be making another trip to Walgreens today!

Seeing all the snow around really brightened my spirits. It was everywhere! The kids and I even played around in it for a few minutes before we went to daycare/work. Then, when I got to work, I found out the support center was trying to get me to go back to work over there instead of on the testing/implementation team that I'm on now - not good news. I talked to my boss on the testing side and she took up for me and now I don't have to go back - the first piece of good news! Then Rick and I met with the administrators at Lake Mead Christian Academy and Bradley is now enrolled! He starts January 8th, and we couldn't be happier! He will definitely be happier and more challenged there. The next piece of good news - my boss let me have the rest of the day off, so Rick and I got to finish Christmas shopping! The only thing we have left are gifts for each other, and something for Ella's teachers. Slowly but surely it's turning into a White Christmas!

Bells will be ringing...

Please come home for Christmas - and forever. It's not cute anymore.
