Jars of Clay - Part 2

After the first two acts, we realized that there were hardly any people on the ground floor, so we headed down. We were center stage, only about 15 feet from the band. It was awesome! I wish I could have taken pictures because we were so close!

Jars played every song on the new cd except for one and I was thrilled because I LOVE the new cd! The old songs they played were Liquid, Love Song for a Savior, Flood, Revolution, The Eleventh Hour (with my favorite lyric – ‘trace the shape of my heart ‘till it becomes more familiar to your eyes’), and God Will Lift Up Your Head.

For the encore, Dan played the melodica on the song ‘Baker’s Street’ (see part of it on this youtube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGUMUEUVDGw). Then he played it again on the song from the new cd called ‘Light Gives Heat’. The parts where he played the melodica on stage were sung by the African Children’s Choir on the cd.

A couple funny things Dan said on stage – he said they haven’t been to Vegas in a couple years, and today they “had lunch with Howie Mandell. He didn’t know it, though.” And, when he was asking for donations to his Blood:Water Mission (which you can read about here
http://www.bloodwatermission.com/), he said we could all donate $1, because “most of us lose more than that here in Vegas. Not me- I’m actually up today.” Then the audience applauded and he said “Thank you; it won’t last.”
