Legoland was a lot of fun except that it was really hot and muggy. Even though we’ve only been living in the desert for 6 weeks, it’s hard to get back to humidity! And either Ella’s measurements at the doctor’s office were wrong, or the heighth bar at Legoland was wrong, but Ella was about 2 inches shy of reaching the 34 inch requirement for the rides. She could only ride two things – the Fair Tale Brook boat ride, and the boat ride that goes around the lake. At least Rick and I could take turns riding the roller coasters with Bradley.

After Legoland we took the scenic route back to the hotel and drove through Del Mar where we had been to Spirit West Coast 2004 just days after I found out I was pregnant with Ella. It truly didn’t seem real at the time. We didn’t even tell Angie and Ryan about it because I wasn’t sure it was going to stick, but stick it did! It was a beautiful drive, and we got to see UC San Diego where we told Bradley he could go to college – never USC, but UC San Diego would be ok! We wound up in La Jolla, and I remembered we had eaten at the Hard Rock Café there once so we stopped. There was a “Gomer” plaque in there – I’m not sure why it was there, but it sure did make me miss Lieutenant Gomer and Vertical Gomer (those were the days…).
